It provides a systematic guideline for manufacturing and quality control, covering every process — from raw material procurement to final product shipment.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety introduced this system
to ensure consumers have access to safe and high-quality herbal medicines they can trust.
Establish an organization to efficiently
implement Herbal GMP standards
Regularly inspect manufacturing facilities and equipment, maintaining and
documenting them to ensure proper production and quality control
Storage areas must be managed under appropriate conditions —
well-ventilated, protected from direct sunlight, and equipped with pest and rodent control systems
Manufacturing facilities and equipment
must be kept clean and sanitary at all times
Workers must wear appropriate uniforms and head coverings, and maintain strict personal hygiene
All manufacturing and quality control processes must be properly
documented, recorded, and managed
Raw materials, intermediate substances, and finished products must undergo thorough quality inspection
Regular internal audits and continuous training for staff are required to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the Herbal GMP system
